How to Get Mud Stains Out of Clothes
Learn how to get mud out of clothes including how to remove set in mud stains and red mud from white clothes, and other types of clothing and surfaces.
Laundry
Dislodge
Remove excess dirt or mud, and then rinse with water. It’s a dirty job.
Pre-treat
For whites: Pre-soak in warm water with powder detergent for 1 hour. For colors: Use Clorox2® for Colors Stain Remover and Laundry Additive to pretreat. Rub in gently and let stand for 5–10 mins. Do not allow to dry out on fabric.
Wash
Wash with detergent adding Clorox2® for Colors Stain Remover and Laundry Additive to your colors or whites with spandex, or Clorox® Disinfecting Bleach to a load of bleach-safe whites.
Try allowing the mud to dry thoroughly before cleaning to prevent smearing.
Surfaces
Pre-wash
Pre-wash surface.
Wipe
Wipe with a solution of ⅓ cup of Clorox® Disinfecting Bleach per gallon of water. Allow solution to contact surface for 6 minutes.
Rinse
Rinse well and air-dry.
